Purple Monkey Hostel - Medellin

As a solo traveler, I couldn't have asked for a better hostel than Purple Monkey. The staff were incredibly welcoming, especially the front desk guy who had a great personality and was always willing to help. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, with one of the best showers I've had in a long time. The location was perfect, and the rooftop bar added to the lively atmosphere. Plus, the free breakfast was a nice touch. I'll definitely be staying here again.

We stayed at this hostel and had an amazing time! The location is perfect for exploring the city, as it is close to the metro station and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. The rooms were spacious and the bathrooms were clean with hot showers. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about things to do in the area. They even had a bar in the evenings and hang out zones to socialize with other guests. The breakfast provided was basic but you could make it yourself with eggs, bread, and fruit. The only downside was that the knives in the hostel were blunt, but that's a minor inconvenience. we would definitely stay here again!

I had an amazing time at Purple Monkey! the location was perfect, close to the metro and bustling nightlife. the hostel organized fun pub crawls with free shots and competitions. the staff were friendly and helpful, and the hostel was clean and well-maintained. the dorms were comfortable and not overcrowded. I would definitely recommend Purple Monkey for a great atmosphere and a good night's sleep. Cons: Nothing that I didn't like 😊.

I had a great stay at the hostel. the cleanliness was impressive, and I loved the rooftop chill area. the beds were comfortable, and the staff was fantastic. the location was perfect, with excellent restaurants nearby, especially Olivia. If you're into nightlife, there's a lively area with bars and clubs within walking distance or a short, cheap taxi ride away. Plus, there's a Spanish school right next door. the hostel had a great vibe, and I highly recommend it.

Had a great Xmas stay in a hostel with friendly staff and good vibes. Loved the DIY breakfast with plenty of ingredients to choose from. Convenient location near restaurants, party area, supermarket, and train station.

The dorms lacked privacy with no curtains on the windows. Some showers needed maintenance and the beds could be more comfortable.

I had some reservations about the outdoor showers, but they turned out to be surprisingly comfortable with hot water. Breakfast can get crowded, but considering the affordable price and the other amenities, it's still worth staying here. The location is great, just a short walk from the El Poblado station, and the hostel is clean and well-maintained. The dorms are not overcrowded and the atmosphere is friendly.

There was only one fan in the room for six people, so it got quite warm at night. Another downside was that there wasn't much of a social atmosphere in the hostel, which made it difficult to meet new people and make friends.
